Does anyone know if there are any Naturist Christmas Events planned in Wuxi?

I see there are plenty of events being organized for alcoholics and Germans, but why does there seem to be none for Naturists? Is this indicative of some sort of underlying intolerance in the Wuxi Expat Community? Or is there a Naturist community somewhere in the Wuxi area that refuses to publicize itself?

I am having one at my house, but it is by invitation only.

I agree. I am a nudest and proud of it! If the locals can walk around in pajamas why can't I walk around in the buff?

What do you have against the locals wearing pajamas?

And if you were a true Naturist, you would respect the rights of non-Naturists. Naturists know there is a time and a place for Naturism. It is so-called Nudists like you, FS, who give true Naturists a bad name so that they end up being lumped together with Nazis.

Shame on you!

It's a pretty safe bet that neither of you is European. If you were then you would understand that getting naked is really no big deal. However, it's usually reserved for the beach in Summer. At this time of year it's pretty much confined to the Sauna/Steam room.

Personally of the two, I prefer the beach. Steam just plays havoc with the hair and make-up and tasteful accessories are much more suited to St Tropez than the Sauna. I couldn't possibly survive without the odd label or two. I'd just feel so naked!

Kisses,

Brit

ps: Quilted Pyjamas in public (or even in private)? I would rather be naked!

Eurocentric snob!! I should have known.

I suppose other European innovations like anti-semitism and communism are no big deal either, nothing to get hang-ups about....

My what a conflicted little soul you are. Espousing theories of Conservatism whilst all the time secretly yearning for a more liberal lifestyle!

And by the way, before you jump to any further radical conclusions, we disowned the Communists decades ago. They dress way too badly ever to be considered in good taste. Secondly, I happen to be Jewish, in the light of which the taste levels of your comments appear to be equally questionable.

Woe is me!!

I don't have any cards I can pull out to try and trump arguments. The Latvian card wouldn't cut it.

Sorry, but I was taking a stab at a European attitudes, like you just exhibited, that I have encountered in Wuxi towards North Americans, and in particularly Americans. Whether you are Jewish or not has nothing to do with it.

If you are going to be offended, at least be offended on the issue at question - European snobbery and hypocracy.

In spite of your inability to spell the word, you would appear to be the paradigm of hypocrisy. You claim to have changed political allegiance on the basis of a dislike of labeling and name calling. You launch tirades of abuse at anyone with affiliations different from yours and yet, somehow manage to stretch credibility to its absolute extreme by jumping to the most tenuous of conclusions and attaching labels to everyone else.

Oh my! A European who thinks that Naturism is no big deal. Help it's an anti-Semitic Communist.

Is there an attempt at a logical, cogent argument there or are you just having a really bad day? Possibly the latter as you clearly lack a sense of humour given the evidently tongue in cheek nature of my post. Then again, perhaps that's a European invention too and I should exhibit some Eurocentric traits and expect you not to understand.

I objected to the snobbery, even it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. It was a clear exhibit of the "we are so open-minded about everything in Europe" attitude that grates on one. 99 times out of 100 times that you hear it, you let it go. But then sometimes, you can't take it anymore. Sorry, if you are the one that got lashed out at but that is the way it goes. You put in your two cents, you take your chances.

If anything this little exchange, I am going to have to lash out more. These battles are worth fighting.

So you're trying to change us, one post at a time? If I were truly Eurocentric, I would point out that you are fighting a losing battle. Our culture was deeply ingrained centuries before others crawled out of the primordial soup!

Naturism is a commonly accepted fact of life on European beaches, in Scandinavian Saunas and on the streets of Berlin during the Love Parade. Pointing that out, apparently makes me a snob, a hypocrite, anti- American, a Communist and an Anti-Semite.

Isn't that just a tad paranoid or should I perhaps now follow suit and start drawing fatuous conclusions about all North Americans?

You can make all the fatuous conclusions you want about North Americans. There many things that North Americans have done that I am rightly ashamed of: Wayne and Shuster, Pierre Trudeau, the election of Barack Obama, and Richard Simmons, to name a few. But you won't find me lording over the rest of the world that they can't be North American because they don't appreciate NASCAR.

Thankfully, you do agree with me that is a time and place for Naturism.

I see I can peg you on four out of five.

I have to take Tony for a walk. Can we continue this discussion later?
